The goal of the Sensory SIG is to bring together diverse investigators to examine how sensation and perception impact the health of Hispanic/Latino adults, a community that is often underdiagnosed and undertreated for sensory impairments. The Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) has rich data on sensation and perception (e.g., vision, hearing, smell) that has been collected or is actively being collected, yet the data is relatively underutilized. Our meetings will include opportunities for researchers to discuss HCHS/SOL project proposals and grant ideas.
The Sensory SIG meets every two months on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1 PM Eastern (12 Noon Central or 10 AM Pacific).
