Thank you for your interest in the HCHS/SOL Sociocultural Special Interest Group (SIG).
The Sociocultural SIG meets on the first Thursday of every other month at 4pm Eastern / 1pm Pacific. The SIG meetings will provide a forum for discussion of all issues and topics related to social, cultural, and psychological factors in the HCHS/SOL, such as: 1) Conceptualization and operationalization of constructs; 2) Psychometric issues; 3) Manuscript ideas; 4) Analytic questions; 5) Presentations of findings; 6) Ancillary study proposal ideas.
We welcome SIG members from all career levels and disciplines. Members may participate in some or all meetings as their schedules allow.
Researchers interested in finding out more about the sociocultural factors assessed in the HCSH/SOL and in the HCHS/SOL Sociocultural Ancillary Study (in approximately 1/3 of the HCHS/SOL cohort) are encouraged to consult the following articles:
